Turkey Time Concessions began in 1989 when Kevin and Janey Smith started selling smoked turkey legs and turkey tender sandwiches at local fairs and festivals. Kevin and Janey saw the need for high-quality concession and catering services in Iowa and drastically expanded their concession fleet, from one stand to 9+, created a full-service catering business, and established a mobile beer dispensing operation.
Turkey Time Concessions is a fixture at the Iowa State Fair selling strawberry smoothies, strawberry shortcake, turkey tenders, various other fair favorites, and of course, our signature smoked turkey legs. In August of 2010, Kevin and Janey began their latest adventure as concession managers of the Richard O. Jacobson Exhibition Building on the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Turkey Time Concession stands are also present at event venues and festivals around Des Moines including the Wells Fargo Arena and Drake University.
